Terrebonne Movers
Who Know the Streets
A two-mover crew in Terrebonne starts at $125 an hour, with the 1.5 hours of transport written on the quote before you sign. The surprise most people get is not the rate. It is the winter parking ban and the écocentre ID rule on the day of the move. Both are on this page.
What it costs
How much do movers cost in Terrebonne?
Movers in Terrebonne with AKA cost $125 an hour for two movers and a truck, or $150 an hour for three. Every job carries a 3-hour minimum plus transport, and because Terrebonne sits across the rivière des Mille Îles from our base, the transport on a Terrebonne quote is 1.5 hours instead of 1. That number is on the written quote up front, not added at the door. No fuel fee, no mileage fee, no hidden fees.
What makes a Terrebonne move cost more
Interior staircases and no driveway in Vieux-Terrebonne, an elevator that was never booked in a Croisée urbaine condo, a 5½ on the third floor of a walk-up, a piano, or a garage full of boxes nobody packed. Each of these adds hours, and hours are the only thing you pay for.

Where you are moving
Terrebonne is four cities in one, and each one moves differently
Terrebonne merged with Lachenaie and La Plaine in 2001 and now counts about 126,000 residents. The 2021 census shows 62% of homes are detached houses, 21% are apartments under five storeys and 14% are condos. In a normal year close to 12,000 people move within or into the city. What that means for a crew depends entirely on which sector you are in.
Vieux-Terrebonne
Declared a Quebec heritage site in May 2026, with roughly 200 protected buildings between rue Saint-Louis, rue Saint-Joseph and the river. Old bourgeois homes on Saint-Louis, modest houses in the Bas-de-la-Côte, tight streets, and night parking by marked stall only. We plan the truck position before we arrive, and the crew carries down interior staircases with blankets on every rail.
Terrebonne-Ouest, Urbanova & Alta Vista
The new eco-district off the A-640: detached, semi-detached and row houses in Alta Vista, denser blocks coming along boulevard Pierre-Dansereau in Natura. Driveways and garages make loading fast. The catch is townhouse stairs and narrow hallways, where a three-seat sofa gets wrapped before it moves an inch.
Lachenaie & Croisée urbaine
The riverfront along chemin Saint-Charles on one side, and the new transit district near the Gare de Terrebonne and Hôpital Pierre-Le Gardeur on the other, with condo towers and seniors' residences going up. Condo moves here mean a booked freight elevator, a loading dock time slot and a building rule sheet. Send us the sheet and we work inside it.
La Plaine & Jardins d'Angora
The northern sector around boulevard Laurier is detached houses with garages, basements and sheds, so the volume is the job, not the access. Jardins d'Angora is adding around 3,500 new units around a conservation park. New-build closings tend to land on the same few dates, so book early.
Moving out of Terrebonne rather than into it? The same crew runs to Laval across the Pont Mathieu, to Montreal, to the South Shore and the West Island. Outside Greater Montreal, our long distance moving team keeps one crew with your belongings from Terrebonne to the destination. All our service areas are on the movers by city page.
Truck parking on moving day
Do you need a permit to park a moving truck in Terrebonne?
No. The City of Terrebonne has no moving-day or moving-truck permit. A truck can stop on your street during the day wherever parking is normally allowed, and the crew keeps the truck on the road while loading. Three rules do apply, and they are the ones that catch people.

Getting rid of what is not coming
Terrebonne écocentre and bulky item pickup, explained
Terrebonne does not run its own écocentre. Residents get free access to the Enviro Connexions déchetterie in the Lachenaie sector and to the écocentres in Bois-des-Filion and Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines. Bulky items go out to the curb once a month. Or, on moving day, our crew takes the old sofa, the dead fridge and the basement pile in the same truck.
Déchetterie Enviro Connexions
3779, chemin des Quarante-Arpents, Terrebonne (Lachenaie). Monday to Friday 8 h to 18 h without a reservation, Saturday 7 h to 15 h 30 by appointment only, closed Sunday. Terrebonne residents get 5 free drops a year, up to 5 tonnes. Bring photo ID with your address; a tax bill is not accepted, and the person named on the ID has to be there. Takes mattresses, sofas, appliances, fridges, electronics, wood, drywall, cabinets and tires. Refuses paint, propane and hazardous materials.
Bulky item pickup (encombrants)
Once a month, always a Wednesday, by collection zone: zones C on the 1st Wednesday, zones A on the 2nd, zones B and D on the 4th. Look up your zone by address, no booking needed. Put items out no more than 48 hours before, on your own frontage. Limits: 2 m³ per address, 90 kg and 1.5 m per item, liftable by two people. Mattresses of any size are accepted. Fridges, electronics, renovation debris, doors, windows and toilets are refused.
Or we haul it during your move
The most efficient way to clear a home in Terrebonne is to fold the junk into the move you are already booking. Same crew, same truck, same day, sorted for donation and recycling on the way out. For a stand-alone cleanout, see junk removal, priced at movers' rates plus a small disposal fee. Fridges and air conditioners can also be picked up free through the City's GoRecycle program.

Storage in Terrebonne
When the new house is not ready on the date the old one ends
New-build closings in Urbanova and Jardins d'Angora slip. Leases in Terrebonne end on July 1 whether the builder is ready or not. Instead of renting a unit in Terrebonne and paying two crews to move everything twice, we load once, hold your belongings in our monitored warehouse in Montreal for a week or a season, and deliver when the keys are real. One crew, one inventory list, one invoice. Details on the warehousing and storage page.

Change of address and city paperwork
The Terrebonne moving checklist nobody sends you
Most of the cost of a move happens after the truck leaves: a Hydro account still in your name at the old address, a library card refused because you brought a lease, a bin that never gets emptied. Six things to do, with the official link for each.
Add Canada Post mail forwarding and you are done. Everything else on this list, the crew handles on the day.
Why Terrebonne calls AKA
Our own crew, our own trucks, the real hours in writing
AKA Moving was founded in 2019 and runs from a warehouse at 10500 Côte-de-Liesse in Lachine. We do not broker your move to a subcontractor. The crew that quotes the job is the crew that shows up, with blankets, mattress covers, dollies, straps and floor protection on the truck, and double coverage insurance through Northbridge included on every job. On July 1 we staff with our own trained movers and never overbook. Licensing, insurance and the people behind the company are on the about page.

Questions
Terrebonne moving questions, answered
Q What is the price of a move in Terrebonne?
Movers in Terrebonne cost from $125 an hour for two movers and a truck, or $150 an hour for three, with a 3-hour minimum plus 1.5 hours of transport for the round trip from our base. A 4½ with normal access usually takes four to five hours of work. Stairs, a piano, or an unbooked elevator add time. The rate includes the truck, fuel, equipment and double coverage insurance, with no hidden fees.
Q Do I need a permit to park a moving truck in Terrebonne?
No. Terrebonne has no moving-truck permit. The truck can stop on your street during the day where parking is allowed, for a maximum of 24 hours. A storage container left on the street is different and needs a temporary occupation permit under by-law 725. Between November 15 and April 15, street parking is banned from midnight to 7 h unless the City authorizes it that night, so a winter move is planned around the 16 h status update.
Q Where is the Terrebonne écocentre and what does it take?
Terrebonne has no municipal écocentre. Residents use the Enviro Connexions déchetterie at 3779, chemin des Quarante-Arpents in Lachenaie, open Monday to Friday 8 h to 18 h and Saturday by appointment, with 5 free drops a year up to 5 tonnes. Bring photo ID showing your address; tax bills are not accepted. It takes mattresses, furniture, appliances, electronics and renovation debris, and refuses paint, propane and hazardous materials. The Bois-des-Filion and Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines écocentres are also open to Terrebonne residents.
Q When is bulky item pickup in Terrebonne?
Once a month on a Wednesday, by zone: zones C the first Wednesday, zones A the second, zones B and D the fourth. Look up your zone by address on the City site. Items go out no more than 48 hours ahead, maximum 2 m³ per address and 90 kg or 1.5 m per item. Mattresses are accepted; fridges, electronics and renovation debris are not. If moving day does not line up with your Wednesday, our crew takes it on the truck.
Q How far ahead should I book movers in Terrebonne for July 1?
Four to eight weeks for the last week of June and the first week of July, and earlier for a new-build closing in Urbanova or Angora, where many keys land on the same dates. AKA staffs July 1 with its own trained crew and does not overbook, which is why the dates fill. A mid-month weekday move can often be booked within a week.
Q Do you move from Terrebonne to Montreal, Laval or the South Shore?
Yes, every week. Terrebonne to Montreal or Laval runs over the A-25 through the Pont Mathieu or over the Pont Sophie-Masson, and the transport time is already in the quote. The South Shore and the West Island are the same crew and the same rate card. Moves beyond Greater Montreal, to Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto or across Canada, are quoted as a fixed price by our long distance team.
Q Can you store my belongings if my new place in Terrebonne is not ready?
Yes. We load once, hold everything in our monitored warehouse in Montreal for as long as you need, and deliver to Terrebonne when the keys are ready. It is the same crew and one inventory list, so nothing is moved twice by two different companies.
